Dear Madam/Sir,
First please accept my greetings and bestwishes!
I'm an amateur doll fashion designer anduser of site AO3. Gucci inspired me a lot about my design of doll's dress. Ireally admire your design and vision.
Recently, there are rumors that Gucci Chinawill sponsor ELLE MEN China July with cover of a Chinese actor namedZhan Xiao (肖战). Mr. Xiao is now in negative publicopinion from the end of February. But ELLE MEN China's official weiboaccount deleted all doubts about the controversial actor, what makes the gossip seems true.
I have to tell you positively; Mr. Xiaowould definitely discredit your name in the long term. For almost one year, Mr.Xiao and his team gave none rein to his ardent fans. The cultists in his fansdid several intolerable affairs to people who didn't show their LOVE to Mr.Xiao. Once a famous young lady in China, Professor Nieng Yan, who is nowemployed by Department of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, wasaccused as academic misconduct by Mr. Xiao's fans. The reason was that shedeclined the propaganda from his fans. Pro. Yan responded, "I prefer tofind interesting actors by myself. " But the fans saw it as a contempt andsend hundreds of accusation letters to her former University. They framed anacademic misconduct against Pro. Yan with none proof. Mr. Xiao and his team keepsilent all over this event, contrary to his usual high profile. I'm sure thathe only keeps silent when his fans make public outrage.
On 27th February, thousands of Mr. Xiao'sfans joined a great complaint of fan fiction website AO3. They falsely allegedAO3 as a pornographic website and used plenty of accusation letters to exertpressure on related department. As a result, they won. We can't visit AO3 fromChina now. Mr. Xiao stayed quiet because his fans did it all for him -- a fanof him wrote a fan fiction on AO3, in which he was described as both atransgender and a sex worker. Just keep silent, he doesn’t need to indict a fanfor a fiction. His crazy fans would do everything for him.
Today, 3rd June, angry users of AO3 stilldon't receive any sincere apology. We searched Mr. Xiao's past public wordsfrom SNS, try to find why he acquiesce his fans to do the horrible things. But,to our surprise, we found his indignity words for female and visibleminorities. Mr. Xiao praised himself "a gentleman like bamboo" in TVprogram. But before start his actor career, he always used the words "fuck""penis", described a woman "like a sex toy".He contempt a Chinese-Indian actress Renata Tan(谈莉娜)"Indian nigga woman". Ms. Tan made her voice on 2nd March. Shedidn't blame any exact man but call on everyone to make the world a betterplace. However, her tolerant didn't receive equal respect. Mr. Xiao's fansconstantly harassed her on weibo and Douyin (tiktok’s Chinese version). Therewere even several web media jump to a conclusion that Ms. Tan design it all byherself as an attempt to discredit Mr. Xiao. Mr. Xiao and his team still giveus no words for it. Even after been defined as a "disqualified idol"by Chinese official paper Daily Procuratorate(检察日报) on 11th March.
Even worse, after been criticized by DailyProcuratorate, Mr. Xiao's fans did a series of fanatical acts. They createdan atmosphere that the fans should show their love and loyalty to Mr. Xiaothrough bulk purchases beyond their scope of capabilities. "If you CAN buy105 digital albums, you SHOULD buy 300 albums", this is their exhortationto Mr. Xiao's fans. One Chinese TV program reported on a heartbroken motherfrom Guangdong Province, whose daughter kept asking her for money to buy XiaoZhan's endorsement products. "If you don't give me money, I'll hate youall my life!" The daughter said these words to her mother after she askedmoney to buy Xiao's digital album. It's not a family rich enough to afford theconsumption. This anxious mother wrote her embarrassment to Mr. Xiao's officialstudio, but received no response until today. Besides, several Mr. Xiao’s fans who work as teachers in government schools, used their power to force their studentsto join Mr. Xiao’s supporting activities or treated the students who doesn’tlike Mr. Xiao very rude and unfair. These teachers bring about more reports fromChinese reputable media. Although been named and shamed, Mr. Xiao only sent a weibowithin 140 words, which makes his voice superficial. Without effective changeof his fan management team, we are afraid that his fans would do more horriblethings in the future.
Someone said that Mr. Xiao plan to give hisapology on pages of ELLE MEN China. In my opinion, he only wants toescape from the real-time response of social media. How absurdity that we canreceive Mr. Xiao's apology only after we BUY a magazine with his cover! It's nodoubt that your name must be affected if he became the cover of ELLE MENChina under the efforts of Gucci China. I wish you can avert a disqualifiedidol take your advantage to wash his own discrimination and indulgence.
I hope you understand.
Yours sincerely,
